Rachel’s Ride for Rwanda
wraps up after 5 wonderful years
In June 2018, we celebrated the 5th Annual Rachel’s Ride for Rwanda, where 80 riders of all ages cycled to see education transformed in Rwanda. Together, we raised $26,600, which means that since it began in 2014, Rachel’s Ride has supported the work of the Wellspring Foundation in Rwandan schools to the tune of over $90,000. What an accomplishment, and what a difference this event has made in so many lives! We are so thankful to everyone who has taken part over these past 5 years.
2018 was, however, the final year of Rachel’s Ride, and while there is sadness over the closing of this particular chapter, we’re thankful for the opportunities that this new season holds to continue engaging our local communities in Wellspring’s work. Whether you’ve participated in the ride, or are looking for ways to connect with issues around the world, we invite you to stay in touch. You can keep up to date with other events and opportunities in your area on our website, or by signing up for Wellspring’s e-newsletter. You can also contact the Wellspring team anytime, as we always love to hear from you!
As we wrap up this amazing event, we want to thank the founder of the ride, Rachel Fitz, who at 11 years old came up with the idea of rallying other kids to help their peers around the world receive the best education possible. Along with her family, Rachel has played a huge part in making Rachel’s Ride such a wonderful event year after year, and we are so grateful.
Thank you Rachel, thank you riders, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!
